Are you a beginner and would you like to learn to sing better, but have never had singing lessons? Then this introductory singing course for beginners at Voicelab Den Haag is something for you!
During the short introductory singing course, you will get to know your own voice in four lessons and learn how singing lessons can help you sing more powerfully and confidently. You take the course in a small group with others who, like you, have no experience with singing lessons. This way, you support each other and can learn from one another.
Many people think that singing beautifully is an innate talent, but that is largely untrue. You can learn a lot about your voice with techniques. Consider your voice like any other musical instrument. With practical guidance and exercises, you can learn a lot.
In the lesson, we do exercises to warm up the voice and work on a specific aspect of singing technique. Then we do a musical exercise, for example, to learn to sing in harmony. And furthermore, we always work on a song as well.
One-time €139 for four 1-hour lessons. Do you want to continue after that? Then it is € 139 per month.
An individual trial lesson costs € 15. You are not yet committed to anything.

The lessons take place in the building “In Het Koorenhuis”. It is located 2 minutes away from the Grote Markt in The Hague. It is easily accessible by public transportation (streetcar 6-4-2-3 and bus 25) and there is a parking lot for those coming by car.
In the groups we sing mainly pop music, but we also make jumps into other styles, so you can learn all sides of your voice.

No, with the introduction course you are not tied to a subscription.
If you want to continue with singing lessons after the introduction, you can take out a subscription for the group singing lessons. This costs € 139 per month and has a cancellation period of 30 days.
The introduction course is really intended as a stepping stone to singing lessons. You will learn the basic principles, but to really progress, you need more lessons. Therefore, you can join one of the regular singing groups in the evening after the introduction course.
You cannot make up a missed lesson in the introduction course and will not receive a refund for missed lessons, as the lesson will continue as usual. If there are multiple introduction courses given in the week, you can join on another day.
Yes, this is possible in consultation with teacher Boukje van Gelder. You can discuss this during the trial lesson.
Once the course has started, you can no longer get a refund. The reason is that a spot is reserved for you in the course, and costs are incurred to complete the course.
The course is designed for people without experience in singing but who can sing a melody, whether or not off-key :). Most people without experience can sing back a melody, or in other words, hold a tune. If you are unable to sing a melody at all, this course is not suitable, as it requires a different approach than for people who can sing a melody. Many people find it difficult to say whether they can hold a tune. Teacher Boukje van Gelder can assess this in the individual intro session. If it turns out that the group lessons are not yet suitable, we can start with private lessons.
